Brian Eno – in the mid 70’s he’s the man on the cultural crossroads. The electronic gatekeeper. (The CD will have to suffice for now as original vinyl copies are dishearteningly expensive.)

Roxy Music – Country Life from 1974. Contemporaneous with Bowie’s Diamond Dogs.
Harmonia – Deluxe from 1975, contemporaneous with Young Americans. Some of the inspiration for the second side of Low and Heroes.
Listened to this in rotation with Blackstar a lot immediately after Bowie died.
Sad month, Bowie’s death prevalent.
A great compendium of a Bowie book, which should have the tagline BOWIE – Song By Song emblazoned on the cover. Based on Chris O’Leary’s amazing blog Pushing Ahead of the Dame, a real Bowie-phile labour of love, this book edits the entries and tightens up the prose. Absolutely recommended.
